How to Win Friends and Influence People is one of the those books that you want to devour because it's very insightful and explained with clever anecdotes. I did my best to only read one section at a time in order to really absorb the message.
Dale Carnegie didn't write a book that is difficult to comprehend or introduce foreign concepts. Everything that he discusses is right in front of us every day and each concept is just waiting to be applied. The simplest advice in the book is to 'smile'. I'm sure we all know that just smiling more often would make the world a better place with little effort, but somehow this is missed my most of us during our daily interactions.
I'm doing my utmost to apply as many of the concepts in the book as possible. It's difficult to remember them all in each situation, but I can tell you that there has already been a marked improvement in my daily interactions. I better understand what other people are thinking and the thoughts they are trying to convey.
This book is recommended for anyone who wants to get ahead in business and anyone who wants to build more deep and meaningful relationships with family and friends. At the beginning of the book it's mentioned that the text should be studied and poured over multiple times and at regular intervals. I believe it. I can't remember each concept and I'll be making notes and referring back to the text. I don't want to forget a thing!
